Ellis Jones is hosting a Seminar for Landlords and Letting Agents on Wednesday 21 May at 12:30pm at the West Hants Club, Roslin Road South, Bournemouth. BH3 7EF.

The seminar, which is free to attend and includes a buffet lunch, will cover the form and reform of the newly-minted Renters’ Rights Bill 2024 (anticipated to come into force in late Spring 2025). The scope of the new Bill, and the consequences of getting things wrong, is enormous – with intricate new compliance regimes for landlords and lettings agents, and substantial financial penalties for breaches. Getting ahead of the curve is therefore essential, not only to be able to deal with matters as they arise, but to start preparations for implementation day.

The speakers will be Daniel Flynn, Partner and Solicitor, John McCarthy, Senior Associate CILEX, and Conor Maher, Senior Associate Solicitor.

On 18th January a volunteer working party from MC Plan and Site Services will be carrying out further decorating and improvements as part of their commitment to help Michael House. One of the rooms to be tackled is the residents’ lounge which will be fully redecorated. To make it a welcoming environment and somewhere pleasant for the residents to relax, they are also looking to upgrade the soft furnishings. To complete the transformation they are looking for some new floor-to-ceiling curtains, a top light that can be dimmed (the switch is already installed) and some nice two seater sofas.
