Chartered Builders, Greendale Construction Limited, has successfully completed a £1.3 million project to construct four new bungalows for veterans in need at Poppy Lane for Bournemouth War Memorial Homes (BWMH). Located at Woodsford Green, Castle Lane West, Bournemouth, Dorset, the 55-week project which commenced in May 2026 and achieved completion on June 12th 2026, saw the award-winning firm construct four, single storey houses with access drive, parking, EV chargers, and bin and cycle storage. The contract involved the demolition of existing garages in order to construct two new 1 bedroom bungalows, and two, 2 bedroom bungalows. All homes have PV panels, air source heat pumps, and underfloor heating, with the Greendale team also completing associated external works and landscaping.
Building of the homes was possible thanks to funding from generous benefactors; Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust, Queen Mary’s Roehampton Trust, and AFC Bournemouth Community Trust Fund.
Greendale Construction previously completed works for BWMH in February 2021, carrying out internal alterations and works on the community hub extension building.
