Leading regional law firm, Steele Raymond has pledged its support for The Great Tail Trail, an initiative that is being organised by Julia’s House to help raise vital funds for its children’s hospice.
More than 40 individually designed and unique giant mermaid tail sculptures will be displayed across Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole next spring, with each sculpture sponsored by a local business or organisation.
Jenny Rogerson, Managing Partner at Steele Raymond, based in Bournemouth, said: “We’re thrilled to be participating in this fantastic fundraiser for Julia’s House, playing our part to help local families with children with serious, often life-limiting medical conditions.
“It’s also a wonderful opportunity to celebrate and support local artists and we’re very much looking forward to choosing the design for our mermaid tail. I know everyone at Steele Raymond will be excited to get outdoors and explore The Great Tail Trail with their friends and families when it opens next spring.”
The family-friendly trail will run from 5 April to 1 June 2025 and will help to raise much needed funds for Julia’s House, a local charity providing care for the most seriously ill children and their families in Dorset. The charity relies on public support and donations to enable it to fund its life-changing care.
Designs for the giant mermaid tail sculptures will be submitted by local artists, with each sponsor able to select their own unique eye-catching design. It will then be brought to life by the artist ready for the start of the trail in April 2025.
Caroline Attreed, Corporate Fundraiser for Julia’s House, said: “We are so pleased that Steele Raymond has decided to dive in and help us make a splash with The Great Tail Trail. As a sponsor they will be part of the biggest and most colourful event in BCP next year.
“The trail provides a great opportunity for staff to get involved, have some fun and know they are making a huge difference to local families with seriously ill children. We are so grateful to have their support."
The Great Tail Trail has been developed by Julia’s House in partnership with Wild in Art. The mermaid tail has been chosen to represent the Mermaid Suite at the Julia’s House Dorset hospice in Corfe Mullen, a special place where families are able to spend time with a child at the end of their life. Once the trail is finished, the sculptures will be auctioned to raise even more funds for the hospice.
