Steele Raymond welcomes Residential Property Solicitor Georgina du Pon to the firm
Top-tier Dorset law firm Steele Raymond has appointed a leading residential conveyancing associate solicitor to its rapidly expanding residential property team.
Georgina du Pon joins Steele Raymond after eight years at leading London law firm Farrer & Co LLP, where she specialised in high-value residential property work, acting for high-net-worth individuals, trust companies, investors and banks.
“A great deal of my work was focused around the purchase and sale of leasehold and freehold residential properties in the super prime and prime Central London markets, often with secured lending and international elements”, said Georgina.
She continued: “The higher the value of the property involved, the more complex the considerations will be. I have a great deal of experience in working alongside, and coordinating, internal client teams, including corporate, planning, construction and international private client, in order to bring together the high level of expertise and service which a client will expect.”
Commenting on her return to the South Coast and appointment at Steele Raymond, Georgina said: “I have young children and felt it was the right time to move away from London, however it was still important for me to be able to work within the same league of solicitors and clients.
“Steele Raymond is a firm which is undoubtedly going places and the sense in the area, certainly for private client and high-value property, is that we are the go-to law firm.”
She added:
“My first impressions were so different from anywhere else I had interviewed. Coming from a law firm like Farrer & Co, I know that the client must be at the centre of everything that you do, and it was evident that Steele Raymond share this view.”
Chris Twaits, Partner and Head of the Property Group at Steele Raymond, said: “We are delighted to welcome a solicitor of Georgina’s calibre to our residential property team. We are seeing more ‘top-talent’ who are keen to move out of London in search of a better lifestyle, but who wish to retain the level and quality of their work.
“We have a unique residential property market in Dorset and the surrounding areas, given the blend of rural, coastal and metropolitan living, and this is proving to be very attractive for ambitious solicitors such as Georgina.”
In closing, Georgina expressed her excitement for the future of the firm, saying: “Given my background in high-net-worth transactions, there is an exciting opportunity to develop that practice in Dorset and across the South Coast, by focusing on niche markets and offering clients a premium service.”
