The National Trading Standards Estate and Letting Agency Team are currently offering a consumer protections course to all Estate and Letting Agents.
The course will cover current consumer protection legislation, provide practical scenarios and give opportunity for individual questions.
Consumer protection legislation has become increasingly complex and broad. It's essential for all property agents to be aware of The Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008 which directly govern your relationships with consumers. This course looks at the law from both a sales and lettings perspective, advising on the correct procedures to apply, what is permissible and the consequences of a breach.
The National Trading Standards Estate and Letting Agency Team is primarily responsible for the regulation of estate agency work in the UK and letting agency work in England.
