Greendale Construction has successfully handed over a £700,000 contract for Chickerell Town Council, to enhance the local community experience at Willowbed Hall, Putton Lane, Chickerell, Dorset.
Completed in August 2026, the Willowbed Hall refurbishment and extension project by Greendale Construction has transformed the important community facility with works that included the construction of a new single-storey rear extension, creating additional office accommodation, whilst the existing offices were converted into modern registrar and meeting rooms. New energy-efficient features were added including, LED lighting, and upgraded heating and double-glazed aluminium windows and doors fitted.
Willowed Hall also benefited from external upgrades by Greendale Construction with a new access road, car park, drainage infrastructure with attenuation provision, hard landscaped pedestrian areas, and extensive soft landscaping works.
Mayor of Chickerell, Councillor Neil Hudson, said: “Willowbed has been an important part of Chickerell’s community for many years, and it is fantastic to see the completed transformation of the building and the wider site.
“The result is a modern and flexible facility that can be used by residents of all ages for a wide range of activities, events and celebrations. I hope the new Willow Suite in particular will become a much-loved space, whether people are attending a meeting, taking part in an activity or celebrating a very special occasion.
“I would like to thank everyone who has played a part in bringing this project to completion and look forward to seeing Willowbed continue to play a central role in community life for many years to come.”
